You’re Never Too Old to Play With Hot Rods

Brad drops in for a visit with Bob Larson, a man who made the decision at 48 years old to follow his passion for hot rods, and learns that true hot rodders n…

Prior to the internet and social posts of TiG welders laying “stacks of dimes,” there was a time when gas welding and lead filling were the order of the day. Bob cut his teeth back on the 1960’s in shop class, learning the auto body craft, fanning the flames of his hot rod interests.

After a career in the food industry, Bob decided to retire early and build some cars!

Having taken a number of years away from building cars, at 48, Bob dove back into it at warp speed. This episode is an incredibly inspiring look at how it’s never too late to follow your dreams. Bob discusses the importance of continuing to learn, having attended Ron Covell’s workshops as well as those led by Kent “The Tin Man” White, as well as putting that knowledge into practice.

Bob discusses his influences, like Sam Barris and others, and ponders a life forged in 19-gauge cold-rolled steel.

Join us for a fascinating discussion, and watch a 5-window have its lid lowered, too!

If you’re an aspiring custom metal worker, this one is for you!
